Meticulous research and trips to archives in Philadelphia and New York went into the creating of this monument. When the bust was debuted in New York City, the Polish consul said it was "the handsomest portrayal of Kosciuszko" he had ever seen.

This sculpture was the initial concept of Kosciuszko in his garden that has been realized as bronze (with his aide de camp Agrippa Hull) and as a painting - this sculpture is in the Gates collection in New York City.
